• I attended the Miss Sohee Spring/Summer 2025 haute couture show in Paris

This Spring/Summer 2025 collection from Sohee Park began as a journey of discovery, inspired by classical and modern sculptures. The essence of couture lies in its ability to transcend the boundary between fashion and art. ,,The surreal shapes I sculpt on the body are drawn from natural objects, and leather has became one of my sculptural mediums, while elements of my inaugural collection are reimagined with a fresh perspective.

A sense of mystery pervades, as Chantilly lace envelops the anonymous faces and bodies, compelling the gaze toward the garments themselves. I envisioned a noblewoman from the Korean Chosun dynasty, transported into the modern world — steeped in dark allure and seduction. As a woman designing couture for women, rooted in my reverence for the female anatomy, my designs explore the delicate balance between modesty and sensuality, drawing parallels between traditional Korean and Western dress. The unveiling of underlayers-whether petticoats and corsetry or the graceful drape of silk — becomes a subtle yet powerful gesture of both elegance and intrigue.

The palette embodies a delicate harmony of soft, romantic hues contrasted with bold jet-black accents. My bridal look — a vision of purity and grace-is likened to a pearl within its shell — delicate and precious — reflecting my vision of couture for the modern bride.

Craftsmanship and my heritage lie at the heart of my work. This season, I have woven the art of Najeonchilgi — the intricate Korean technique of inlaying mother-of-pearl landscapes into lacquerware into my designs. Entire bodices and accessories are adorned with this exquisite craft, featuring delicate depictions of Korean flora and fauna. Inspired by Minhwa, also known as Korean folk art, big silhouettes are transformed into canvases where Swarovski crystals and beads become my paint. Voluminous Hanbok skirts are reimagined through a modern lens. Tailored jackets and blazers are sculpted with soft curves and volume, adorned with embroidery, while headpieces, reminiscent of the grandeur of Korean empresses, complete the narrative, weaving a profound sense of cultural identity throughout.

This journey is not only about preserving tradition but also fostering innovation. In line with this vision, I am proud to collaborate this season with Hyosung Group, a global leader in sustainable textile solutions. Through this partnership, I aim to incorporate innovative materials into future collections, evolving my designs while staying true to my ethos.”

Dreams definitely come true. Thank you, Lucien and your amazing PR Team for making this happen. I am honoured and privileged to attend Sohee Park’s first official couture show in Paris during the Haute Couture Week. I’m overwhelmed by this gigantic fashion show and her breathtaking gowns. I have been following her on Instagram for years. What more could I ask for? I am grateful for where I am.
I wore a crystal embellished, one shoulder asymmetrical Raisa & Vanessa dress, a Furever rabbit fur coat, a black python Thalé Blanc clutch with Swarovski crystal orchids, a pair of blue Benedetta Bruzziches mules with rhinestone mesh and Monis diamond earrings and a ring for the Miss Sohee show in Paris during the Haute Couture Week.
