Introdans proudly presents a reimagined version of The Nutcracker, set to the timeless music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. In this fresh and daring interpretation, Belgian choreographer Jeroen Verbruggen infuses the classic ballet with his signature magical, poetic and limitless creativity.
The scenography and costumes, masterfully crafted by the Parisian couture house On Aura Tout Vu, bring a bold and baroque touch to the production. Designers Livia Stoianova and Yassen Samouilov create a dreamlike, atypical aesthetic that perfectly complements Verbruggen’s visionary choreography.
In this renewed take on Marius Petipa’s 1892 masterpiece, Verbruggen takes us on a journey through a shimmering, fantastical world. The story follows Marie, a young girl exploring her identity and Drosselmeyer, a mysterious figure concealing the prince she must liberate.
Through a whirlwind of virtuosic dance and captivating visuals, the production alternates between light and shadow, joy and whimsy. Characters multiply, emotions intertwine and the childlike wonder within us is rekindled in this vibrant, imaginative spectacle.
