Deborah Sawaf is firmly taking the wheel at Thalé Blanc with her luxury handbag collection and her first RTW collection. An experienced and celebrated long distance driver of Porsches, Aston Martins and Bentleys from a very young age, she is moving into her own lane after two former CEO’s almost pushed her off the road.
Now clearly in charge, this time driving design and sales, Sawaf, a Bombay-born, Italian & LA trained (FIDM) designer with a global, pro-woman stance, is putting her foot on the gas and going for it full speed. Having worked with legends including Valentino, Gianfranco Ferré and Roberto Cavalli, her deft hand at details like embroidery, hardware, fabrics and shapes influence every handbag or fashion piece she creates. Sawaf also studied at the Gemological Institute of America, further refining her attention to luxurious detail.
Full of energy, elegance, talent, intelligence and presenting a gracious demeanour, for her collections exude confidence, glamour, edge and power. The RTW and handbags are designed for women who are not afraid to make a statement in the boardroom or on the racetrack of life!
Her life lived in India, the Middle East, Italy and currently Los Angeles has honed the sophisticated and confident eye that you see in every single piece she designs whether they be the glamorous and distinctive Audrey bags, inspired by the legendary actress and humanitarian and blessed by Hepburn’s son, or the dramatic coats, jumpsuits, floor length dresses, wrap skirts and fringed tops in her first full ready-to-wear collection.
Never one to take her privileged life for granted, Sawaf is a supporter and mentor for women around the globe, involved in women’s economic and business conferences from Washington to Qatar to her current home base of LA.
